What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
I would put Roberto, Masuaku, Reid, Balbuena, Fredericks, Lanzini, Snodgrass, Wilshere, Yarmolenko and Ajeti on a transfer list

Release Sanchez and Zabaleta

I still have hopes Anderson will come good but if he will play badly for the rest of the season I would sell and replace him.
Harry Wilson springs to mind.

Begin with securing the Soucek transfer

If Ngakia wont sign a deal we definitly need a right back. Montiel or Matty Cash spring to mind.

Put Diangana in the first team squad.

Left back is definitely needed

Centre back. Mings (If Villa go down) and Sarr spring to mind

Centre midfielder. Box to box preferebly. Douglas Costa of Villa if they go down would be ideal.

Attacking midfielder. Eze of QPR would be an interesting signing

A striker. Luca Jovic would be immense but probably unrealistic and he seems to favour a AC Milan move

Fill remaining squad holes with young enthusiastic players from the Championship.

I just read Arsenal will let Maitland Niles go. Would be a decent signing.

"Keep core British & Irish players as Squad players - Snodgrass, Noble, Johnson, Cresswell, Martin, Randolph."

Apart from Johnson and Noble, I'd look to offload all of them. They're not getting any better.

Seen Eze a few times and I’ve never been overly impressed.

Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
Sell Rice (he will want to leave) & Anderson to build some funds to reinvest.

Reduce the wage bill by getting rid of deadwood and players that are just not up to it -

Ajeti, Yarmolenko, Wilshire, Lanzini, Masuaku, Balbuena & Fredericks.

Keep core British & Irish players as Squad players - Snodgrass, Noble, Johnson, Cresswell, Martin, Randolph.

Buy all the best and promising Championship players (on the basis their teams don't get promoted)

Any that are available from -

Phillips, Benrahma, Watkins, Eze, Cash, Worrall, Kipre, Robinson

Bring back Diangana & Cullen.

Sprinkled with possible loans (Jovic & Barkley).

Fabianski
Cash Diop Worrall Robinson
Soucek Barkley
Bowen Benrahma
Jovic Haller

Randolph
Ogbonna
Johnson
Fornals
Eze
Antonio
Watkins

Martin
Kipre
Cresswell
Johnson
Noble
Cullen
Snodgrass
Diangana
Silva

Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
Not sure we have the cash or know how to improve things much.

At least one new full back is a must, I’d like a new centre half and someone upfront who offers a threat. Especially if Anderson & Yarmolenko depart.

Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
Personally I wouldn't make wholesale changes. Simply because I don't think we would replace them with better all in one window. We'd end up getting either past it players, panic buy cast offs from other teams, championship standard players or nobody.
Need to keep a core, move on anyone who isn't committed or not in the managers plans. Building a side takes time. Attitude has to come into it. Hungry players important but balanced with those who are established a this level.

There are at least five players I'd consider moving on and we already lost 2 players in Sanchez and Zabeleta.
I'd also like to see where some of the youngsters may fit. Diangana, Johnson, Holland, Silva, Cardoso. Although no longer a youngster, is there a role for Cullen? Can't be worse than Sanchez was.

Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
Id actually bring Hugill back to be 3rd choice striker based on the fact if he played for us he'd work his bollocks off, the squad seem to like him, and he scores goals against the kinds of teams he'd be likely to play against (Championship or lower teams in Cup games or at the bottom of the Premier League) olus he's home grown.

Id keep Haller (before us he was an absolutely stellar buy that most German commentators couldnt believe we were capable of signing, and plenty of players have taken a season to bed in, with decent and capable strikers very very hard to sign).

Soucek signing if we stay up is a given (as it's already locked in). Suspect staying up we'll get one more season off of Rice.

Anderson, Lanzini and Yarmalenko Id get shot of at the attacking end of the pitch. I assume Wilshere has a year left on his gig and will hence remain, but would discount him as anything other than a luxury sub. In defence Cresswell and Fredericks as we all know aren't really good enough though Id be happy if Fredericks stayed as backup to a new RB. Id keep Balbuena as a cheap backup CB. Would likely try and cash in on Diop who has too many bad games (although I like his attitude) but we'll have to raise cash somehow.

Masuaku will stay (though only as a back up left winger for me, although if we got offered enough to replace him with someone we wanted Id move him on).

Ogbonna stays, Fabianski stays one more year with Randy as backup (unless we could raid someone like Forest for their keeper).

As for who to bring in, I'm short on targets as have limited view outside of who we play, but Id be thinking of the Leeds centre mid DM (name escapes) as compliment to Soucek and potential successor to Declan. Based on who we're losing in my list an overhaul of the defence (two LBs, a RB, and at least one CB are going to be needed) as is Attacking Midfield (a wide man and a number 10, plus Diangana and Holland stepping up).

Based on recent successes Id be happy to start the Season with Antonio, Haller, Hugill and Silva as our strike force and save the money for other areas of the team, with defence the key area to bolster.

So squad:

Fabianski
Randolph (unless Forest keeper a possible)
Martin
New RB
Fredericks
Johnson (U21)
New LB
New LB (U21)
New CB
Ogbonna
Balbuena
Cardoso? (U21)
Rice
Noble
Soucek
New DM (Kalvin Phillips)
Wilshere
Fornals
Snodgrass
Masuaku
Bowen
New LFW
New AM
Diangana
Holland
Antonio
Haller
Hugill
Silva

Looking at the above there is one player too many, so Id probably make a call on losing Holland (loan) or Silva (loan), or even both. Wilshere is an horrific drain on resources too it has to be said.

Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
Fabianski finished hahaha

He is the fucking last of our worries, we need every single penny we have spent on the defence and a striker. If somehow we can get rid of the overpaid cunts not producing enough (we won't) then that would allow us to go all out for top notch fullbacks and a centre half.

Certain transfer targets I mean..

Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
Won’t bother mentioning certain players, but what yesterday proved was that we need to clear the squad of the likes of Haller, Anderson, Lanzini and bring in players similar to the likes of Bowen. Younger, hungry players who are willing to go out and put in a shift. It’s what the fans want to see, it’s seemingly what Moyes is after, if he ends up staying too. We did the same with Antonio years back, and he’s turned out to be excellent business, as too was Cresswell for his first few seasons. I’d hope we give Diangana, Cullen and Hugill a chance too after good seasons in the championship.

Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
Fabianski is 35 now
I’d like to see someone come in to genuinely compete with him for the spot.
And when they take over Fabianski could do another year or two as a number 2.

I agree, Perce.

Flappy is finished as a top keeper.

Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
This might not be popular but I would seriously think about getting another goalkeeper not as back up but to be the number 1.
Fab has been great but I think he hasn't looked confident since he came back from injury.
He's no spring chicken and he's not as dominant as he once was.

Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
I'd be looking at Mitrovic.

What are Cash and Worrall like at N Forest?

Brentford players obviously worth looking at.

Assuming we can offload our high earning shit.

Just wonder if we've spent Summer's money on Bowen and Soukek?

El Scorchio 2:55 Sun Jul 12
Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
Hardly.

Realistically we won’t shift all of them in one window, and we probably need to take a loss on some of them but that’s the price you pay when you buy poorly or things don’t work out.

To move forward as a club, most of those have to leave and be replaced one way or another.

I still hold out hope for Lanzini but I can’t see him ever being the same player, at least in a West Ham shirt.

What would you do?

Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
It's akin to saying we should sign De Bruyne and Mane. That's what we'd all like.

USE YOUR LOAF.

Not my problem who would buy them and where they go. That’s just what I’d like to happen, whether it’s realistic or not.

Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
I expect rice to depart so, the keep list is AS follows:

Fab
Ogbonna
Soucek
Bowen
Antonio
Noble (more for leadership than skills)

The rest subject to reasonable offers can go in My opinion.

I would give away regardless of the offer:
Cresswell
Fredericks
Wilshere
Roberto

Re: What changes to the squad would you make if we stay up?
VickyPark - Re, your comment on Ajeti.

Its often said never to judge a player on one game.

I am judging him from what I saw at Oxford. Those that were there know we have bought an Ali Dai or whatever his name was at Southampton.

He is not a footballer, and how he even gets on the bench must be a warning sign
